Exchanging the ATF in newer Ford 8 and 10 speed transmissions has been a challenge... until now! Previously, you’d have to warm up the transmission to operating temperature before the internal thermostat would open up and circulate outside the transmission, which could take anywhere from 20-40 minutes. Flo-Dynamics now offers adapters to either service via dipstick mode or inline mode while bypassing the internal thermostat, eliminating the wait time. The instructions below will show you how and where to connect, saving your shop time and money!
When performing an engine-off coolant service, there are two methods. The first is a fast and easy vacuum and fill through the radiator cap (either on the radiator or the pressurized coolant reservoir). The second is a more thorough flush service through the upper radiator hose. On some newer vehicles, accessing and connecting to the upper radiator hose can be difficult and time consuming. In this video, I'll show you how you can still perform the more thorough flush service with a simple connection to the pressurized coolant reservoir, also referred to by Ford as the degas bottle.
